Who
we are:
We are the wives of the men in the Knights of Columbus, Council 11604,
Jacksonville Arkansas. Henceforth, "The Ladies of the Knights."
Our
Mission:
To
bestow upon others, a wealth of generosity and kindness, and to
provide aid and assistance to those in need.
What
we do:
Ask us and we'll proudly, not boastfully tell you what we do. The
list of people and organizations is too long to go into detail but
can be summarized as:
Food Pantries
and Shelters: These organizations have an overwhelming need for
assistance during the holidays. We collect and distribute food baskets
for the needy,
to help the holidays be a little brighter others.
Shut-ins and
Nursing Homes: We visit with those who are shut-ins or in local
nursing
homes.
Fund Raising
Campaigns: Our successful fundraisers provide the means to purchase
items needed for the church, the Knights, fellow parishioners, and
many others.
The Knights
of Columbus: We help the men plan and organize many of their dinners
and functions. We provide food, refreshments, and decorations on
many occasions
and events.
Fellow Parishioners
and Community: We lend a helping hand when an emergency or
crisis arises. Through caring, friendship, and contributions whether
they be monetary,
food, clothing, or just a strong shoulder to lean on, we strive
to ease other's burdens.
The old saying
goes "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy." It is
true, it takes a lot of work and dedication on our part to accomplish
the many things that we do. But we do make time for play. We enjoy
trips, camaraderie, fun and fellowship together.
What we do for
fun:
Help others.
It's what we do and the reason for our organization.
Have meetings
to schedule and plan upcoming events.
Take trips
to places such as Branson Missouri, Natchez Mississippi, and other
fun and
exciting places.
To spread goodwill
and benevolence, contact Louise Kieffer for more details.
Our monthly meeting is held on the first Wednesday of each month
at 7:00 at the K of C Hall, 108 N. First Street in Jacksonville.
